Novell Coronavirus Pandemic Information Updates

Guardian Pediatrics is working hard to ensure the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff. We support the practice of social distancing to limit exposures and to help our community’s attempt to “flatten the curve”.
    – Well child exams will be scheduled first thing in the morning, from 9am until 11am, during which time no patients with symptoms of illness will be allowed to enter the office;
    – After 11am sick visits will be scheduled on an as needed basis;
    – No healthy patients will be allowed to enter the office after 11am;
    – We are limiting all visits to the patient and caregiver only;
    – No siblings will be allowed to accompany patients to appointments, unless the sibling has also been scheduled for a visit during that time slot;
    – We request that only one healthy caregiver accompany patients to both well and sick appointments;
    – We are recommending that any caregiver that may be considered high risk for COVID-19 to not accompany the patient to any visits;
    – No patient or caregiver may enter the office without a scheduled appointment and clearance from the staff to enter from the parking lot;
    – When the patient arrives in the parking lot they will need to call the office and alert the staff of their arrival;
    – A staff member will call the patient when an exam room is available and they may enter the office;
    – All patients will go directly into an exam room as directed by a staff member, no check-in will be required;
    – Co-pays and outstanding balances will be handled individually by the front office staff when scheduling the patient’s appointment;
    – No patient will need to stop at the front desk for check-out following their appointment;
    – Controlled substance prescriptions may be picked up at the office at a time agreed upon by the caregiver and office staff;
COVID-19 Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment
    – Patient’s will be screened via phone triage for symptoms concerning for COVID-19
    – A physician will evaluate symptoms and exposure history to determine the need for testing
    – The patient/caregiver will then be instructed on the necessary steps to obtain testing and further quarantine recommendations
    – COVID-19 test results will be communicated to the patient/caregiver by the ordering physician
